SOCIAL SERVICES AT PARKVIEW

HOME HEALTH:

If your loved one is admitted to our facility and is planning on a short term stay, they may be eligible for Home Health Services through Allen Hospital, Covenant Hospital, Grundy County Public Health (or the county they are residing in), or another home health agency. This can be coordinated through Ashley Junker, Social Services Coordinator, at Parkview. The staff at Parkview DOES NOT determine what, if any, services the resident would “qualify” for once they return home. Ashley is able to call the home health agency of your choice or who is covered by insurance, and lets them know when the resident has discharged. The agency will do their own assessment of the resident once they are discharged from Parkview. They are not able to complete an assessment while still staying at Parkview.

MEALS ON WHEELS:

Parkview provides Meals on Wheels 7 days of the week, including holidays, to those interested people within a 5 miles radius of Reinbeck. Those who qualify for the Elderly Waiver program through DHS may be able to receive meals all 7 days of the week. Those who do not qualify will be able to privately pay for these meals if they choose to have them. The charge will be $6.00 per meal for those privately paying. The meals will be delivered between 11:30am and 12:30pm daily. The weekly menus are distributed in the paper each week. Please call Parkview if you are interested in Meals on Wheels for the following holidays: New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Please call Ashley Junker at Parkview Manor at 319-345-6811 if you are interested in Meals on Wheels with Parkview or have any questions about our program or signing up for the Elderly Waiver.

AREA SUPPORT GROUPS:

Parkinson's Support Group: Sundays at 2:00 to about 3-3:30 pm at the Dike United Methodist Church, 439 Church St. (the west edge of Dike). There are entries on the east, south and west of the building. Each door has a threshold to cross. South entrance is probably the most easily accessible. It seems we are using the second or third Sunday. Cancellation notices will run on KWWL and on KQCR-FM (98.9) in Parkersburg.

All are welcome.
